Nell Salzman is a Local Investigations Fellow with The New York Times, where she reports on economic development and Chicago’s tax increment financing program.

She is originally from Denver, Colorado and attended Brown University. Previously, she worked at the Chicago Tribune, KTNA radio in Alaska and Westword in Denver.

She’s worked with UNICEF and has spent time volunteering at the border.
